This all
action programme provides a fascinating insight into the last Summer of
Concorde services beginning in May 2003 with the final supersonic operations
of Air France and concluding on the 26th November 2003 when the last ever
Concorde flight landed at Filton, Concorde's birthplace, to bring about the
end of an era.
BRACE
YOURSELF!!!
. . . An introduction sequence takes you, not just ‘airside’
at New York’s JFK airport, but onto the runway centre-line itself as
Concorde hammers towards you! Thereafter an overview of the shock news’ of
Concorde's retirement came about precedes a review of the last Air France
flights, including the last ever Concorde charter, last Paris - New York
services and subsequent museum flights to Washington, Le Bourget, Baden
Baden and Toulouse (including an amazing voyage by barge down the Rhine).
The British Airways story is then illustrated with the core New York service
shown in detail (including on board footage) before scenes from the North
American tour (the last BA Concorde into Washington DC). The ‘last week’
visits to Birmingham, Manchester and Cardiff, set the scene for extensive
coverage of the emotive final day, 24th October 2003, when three BA
Concordes converged on Heathrow to conclude Supersonic passenger services.
‘Alpha Echo’ - taking off for the last Trans-Atlantic flight and ‘Alpha
Foxtrot’ - conclude the story. |
